Accounting Staff Analyst:

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Accounting Staff Analyst to join their team!

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-to-senior level Accounting Staff Analyst to join their dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's financial success in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting including monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings, and consolidations, along with a keen eye for detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial analysis and reporting activities to support decision-making processes within the finance department and across the organization.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, providing valuable insights and recommendations to management.

  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational improvements.

  • Conduct variance analysis and explain key drivers of financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes, enhance controls, and drive efficiency.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries and requests.

  • Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.

  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

  • Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA is preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate and/or public accounting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, with the ability to apply them in a complex business environment.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of mentoring and developing staff members.
