IT Applications Manager

Inceed has partnered with a growing oil and gas on an IT Applications Manager opportunity! This individual will play a pivotal role in setting up and managing the IT department from scratch, ensuring seamless integration of applications and systems, and collaborating closely with vendors to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a proven ability to navigate the complexities of vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  1. Establishing IT Department: Lead the setup and establishment of the IT department, including defining processes, selecting appropriate technologies, and building a skilled team.

  2. Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, managing service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring vendors deliver quality solutions and support.

  3. Application Integration: Oversee the integration of various applications and systems, ensuring compatibility, data integrity, and optimal performance across the organization.

  4. Hands-on Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support as needed, troubleshooting issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring the smooth functioning of critical applications.

  5. Project Management: Lead IT projects from conception to completion, coordinating with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to deliver solutions on time and within budget.

  6. Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations to protect sensitive data and mitigate risks.

  7. Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and documentation to support end-users in effectively utilizing IT applications and systems, promoting efficiency and productivity.

  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance IT capabilities and drive business growth.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  2. Proven experience in setting up and managing an IT Applications team from scratch, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  3. Strong technical background with hands-on experience in application integration, system administration, and troubleshooting.

  4. Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, including contract negotiation, SLA management, and vendor performance evaluation.

  5. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources effectively, and deliver results within tight deadlines.

  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  7. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance.

  8. Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CISSP are a plus.
