Azure Engineer

Inceed has partnered with a growing oil and gas company to help find an experienced and eager Azure Engineer to join their team.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and deploy Azure cloud solutions that support critical oil and gas applications and workflows, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define cloud architecture, and develop technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Implement and manage Azure infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate deployment and configuration processes using tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Configure and manage Azure services including Azure VMs, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to support application requirements.
  • Design and implement Azure networking solutions, including virtual networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and load balancers, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST) as well as oil and gas industry guidelines for data security and management.
  • Monitor Azure resources and applications using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other monitoring tools to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Implement Azure DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) to support agile development practices and accelerate time-to-market for new features and enhancements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Document technical designs, procedures, and operational processes related to Azure cloud solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Azure solutions within the oil and gas industry, with knowledge of upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings, including Azure DevOps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Expertise in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Familiarity with oil and gas industry standards and regulations, including data security and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimize performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or similar.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises systems.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of industrial IoT (IIoT) and data analytics solutions in the context of oil and gas operations.

Other Information:

  • This is an long term, open ended contract position
  • This role requires an onsite schedule, Monday-Friday
  • Occasional travel to Beaumont area office is required. Travel will be reimbursed.
