Position: HVAC/R Field Service Technician

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled HVAC/R Field Service Technician to join their team! This role is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated technician looking to take on a dynamic, customer-facing position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of field service activities, including technical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and managing service-related documentation. The position is open due to growing demand, offering an excellent chance for someone with strong field experience to make a significant impact within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment using precision gauges, testing instruments, and specialized tools.
• Provide technical support to customers via phone or email to assist with troubleshooting issues.
• Follow Service Department procedures for handling warranty and non-warranty troubleshooting.
• Test system components for leaks and dismantle malfunctioning systems for repair.
• Read blueprints to determine components needed for refrigeration systems.
• Perform mechanical overhauls, refrigerant reclaiming, and install necessary components in refrigeration systems.
• Keep accurate records of repairs, replacements, and the causes of malfunctions.
• Travel to job sites to assess conditions, identify concerns, and make recommendations for action.
• Resolve customer complaints by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Complete startup procedures by ensuring all components are installed and functioning properly.
• Communicate with customers, contractors, and engineers to resolve field issues.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
• Install wiring to connect refrigeration system components to an electric power source.
• Cut, bend, thread, and connect pipe to functional components and water, power, or refrigeration systems.
• Adjust valves according to specifications and charge the system with the correct refrigerant.
• Estimate, order, pick up, deliver, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
• Install expansion and control valves using acetylene torches and wrenches.
• Mount compressors, condensers, and other components in specified locations on frames.
• Fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of the refrigeration system using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers in the building for equipment installation.
• Insulate system shells and cabinets for optimal operation.
• Perform equipment startup procedures, verifying all components and systems are properly installed and operational.
• Install service gauges, check power and control operation, and ensure equipment functionality.
• Communicate with relevant stakeholders to resolve technical and operational field issues.
• Attend work as outlined in the Employee Handbook or as specified by the supervisor.
• Comply with government regulations, laws, and company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent job experience.
• Minimum of three years of field service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products, effective communication skills, and basic computer skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• EPA Certification preferred.
• Mechanical Journeyman or NATE Certification.
• Ability to multi-task and read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
