Compensation: $50-65/hr

Position: Senior Data Modeler

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Senior Data Modeler to join their team!

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data professional to design, develop, and optimize semantic models that enable robust reporting, analytics, and data products. This position provides a chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a talented team of data professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement semantic models using Power BI, transitioning existing SSAS models as needed.
• Build and integrate models by leveraging data platforms, including Databricks and SQL Server.
• Optimize model performance and work alongside data engineers to structure tables for enhanced efficiency.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, mappings, and business rules using tools like Alation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide mentorship to junior team members in BI tools and techniques.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in data modeling with expertise in Power BI or SSAS.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, DAX, and M Query.
• Thorough understanding of database design principles, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Experience working in cloud-based environments, especially Azure.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Familiarity with semantic layer platforms such as AtScale, Denodo, dbt, Cube.js, etc.
• Hands-on experience integrating semantic models with Databricks.
