Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000

Location: Tulsa, OK 

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team!

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take the lead on the technical development of the full company product range, ensuring that the company remains competitive within the industry. This position will involve close collaboration with management and sales teams to convert market demands into innovative product designs, as well as upgrading and maintaining existing products. The Mechanical Design Engineer will also be expected to adapt to industry trends and customer needs, provide technical expertise, oversee product improvements, and participate in customer-facing technical reviews and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Product Development: Convert market demands into practical product concepts. Design new products and enhance existing ones, including detailed production drawings, and manufacturing instructions for both new and updated components.

  • Customer & Production Support: Offer technical assistance to the sales team, helping with proposals and clarifying project requirements through general drawings. Address specification discrepancies with production teams and actively engage in required product modifications.

  • Project Leadership: Lead R&D initiatives, ensuring they stay within budget and on schedule while providing technical oversight and fostering a collaborative team environment.

  • Technical Guidance & Mentorship: Guide and mentor team members on machine design principles, component manufacturability, and industry standards. Provide ongoing technical support to customers and field teams.
  • Customer Interaction: Occasionally represent the company in customer-facing situations, which may include technical troubleshooting, in-depth specification discussions, and participation in technical reviews.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design Engineering.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with a background in rotating equipment within industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, Manufacturing, or Pumps.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in CAD software, Ansys, and MS Office, with solid expertise in fluid dynamics, material mechanics, drawing practices, machining techniques, and component manufacturability.

  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess machinery form, fit, function, thermal loads, bolting requirements, and instrumentation data.

  • Personal Attributes: Self-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to assess risks and make decisions effectively.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff, vendors, and customers at all levels.
