Position: Network Implementation Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled networking professional to take ownership of designing and implementing robust network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to assess needs, specify hardware, and ensure seamless deployment. This position is open due to company growth, offering a dynamic work environment with challenging and rewarding projects.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with customers and sales teams to gather network requirements and intended functionalities.

• Specify and recommend necessary hardware, including servers, workstations, switches, cabling, wireless components, and supporting infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain templates for recording network specifications and system requirements.

• Create network diagrams, rack elevation sketches, and supporting documentation for proposals.

• Identify non-security software licensing needs, such as Windows and SQL.

• Calculate essential system metrics, including heat load, bandwidth, and storage requirements.

• Work with operations leadership to align project schedules and determine network support needs.

• Participate in turnover and kickoff meetings to define deployment scopes for network infrastructure and workstation installations.

• Gather critical network details, including IP ranges, network architecture, and remote connectivity options.

• Assess physical site conditions such as rack space, power supply, cooling, and cabling requirements.

• Collaborate with project managers, IT, and service teams to execute deployment tasks and document all network-related setups.

• Continuously refine processes and update SOPs to improve coordination between Operations, IT, and Service teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in network and headend design/architecture.

• Strong hands-on experience specifying network hardware, including servers, switches, SFPs, and cabling.

• Ability to create detailed architectural and connection diagrams, hardware specifications, and rack elevations.

• Expertise in planning, implementing, and managing wired (copper/fiber) and wireless network infrastructures.

• Proficiency with computer-aided drawing tools such as Bluebeam, Visio, or AutoCAD for technical documentation.

• Willingness to travel periodically for site assessments and surveys.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

• Certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or CCNP are a plus.
