Compensation: $38-42/hr

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Position: Civil Designer

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Civil Designer to join their team!

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced civil designer to work on a variety of projects involving site design, land development, storm drainage systems, and utility design. This role will offer exposure to diverse project types and clients, providing an excellent platform for career growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation, along with expertise in analyzing topographical and geologic data to support project planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage systems, stormwater management, and utility design.

• Utilize CAD software to create detailed construction documentation, refine design layouts, and execute calculations.

• Analyze reports, maps, and site data to support design and development plans.

• Review and revise design drawings for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives within budget and schedule constraints.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or a related field with at least seven years of experience, or an associate degree with eight years of experience, or nine years of progressive detailing and design experience.

• Expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel for civil design deliverables.

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design calculations, and system components.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to solve design challenges.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience in sediment and erosion control, traffic control, airports, or facility design.

• Knowledge of grading and excavation volume calculations.

• Familiarity with diverse civil engineering projects and multidisciplinary collaboration.
