Position: Sr Firmware Engineer
Compensation: $65 – 72 /hour, depending on experience
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Sr Firmware Engineer to join their team!
This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a hands-on firmware engineer who enjoys building and improving connected wearable products. You’ll join a small, collaborative team working on fast-moving projects with real product impact, including new development, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance. If you like owning features from design through debugging and delivery, this role offers the kind of variety and technical challenge that keeps work engaging.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop firmware for wearable monitoring devices using C and Zephyr RTOS.
- Support smart watch, ankle bracelet, and audio product initiatives.
- Improve tamper detection capabilities for current product lines.
- Debug embedded systems issues through root cause analysis.
- Collaborate on product testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Work with wireless connectivity and low-power device functionality.
- Contribute across development, validation, and field issue resolution.
- Partner closely with engineers and QA on active projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years of embedded firmware engineering experience.
- Strong C programming experience.
- Experience with RTOS environments, preferably Zephyr.
- Background in embedded systems and microcontroller development.
- Proven firmware debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience supporting products through development and production.
- Ability to read schematics and hardware documentation.
- Experience using lab debugging tools, such as oscilloscopes.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Wireless protocol experience, including WiFi, Bluetooth, or cellular.
- Experience with Sub-GHz connectivity.
- Low-power battery-operated device development.
- Wearable or IoT product experience.
- Camera, display, or sensor integration background.
- Experience with product bring-up and hardware integration.
- Logic analyzer or other advanced debugging tool experience.
