Position: Electrical Designer
Compensation: $28 – $33 /hour, depending on experience
Location: Tucson, AZ
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Electrical Designer to join their team!
This is a great contract opportunity for an electrical design professional who enjoys turning technical ideas into clear, buildable deliverables. You’ll support a variety of projects, work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, and contribute to electrical design work from early planning through construction support.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support electrical design for diverse project types and clients
- Prepare drawings, schematics, layouts, and construction documents
- Assist with CAD setup and project-specific design procedures
- Develop engineering drawings from sketches, notes, and instructions
- Perform drawing production, design layout, and related calculations
- Revise drawings using markups, redlines, and ongoing project updates
- Apply design codes, standards, and project specifications
- Coordinate with project teams to resolve design issues
- Track revisions, plot files, and project-related documentation
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field with 2 years’ experience
- Associate’s degree with 3 years’ experience, or 4 years’ equivalent experience
- Strong AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel experience
- Ability to use both 2D and 3D design applications
- Basic understanding of electrical design, calculations, and systems
- Ability to learn new design software quickly
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
- Familiarity with engineering design deliverables
- Experience supporting project budgets and schedules
- Exposure to construction documentation or post-design support
