Position: Physical Security Engineering Manager
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Chicago, IL
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Physical Security Engineering Manager to join their team!
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys guiding technical teams, supporting complex project delivery, and serving as a trusted point of contact for customers. In this role, you’ll help shape project execution, strengthen engineering operations, and support critical physical security and infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead, mentor, and schedule a small team of field support engineers
- Support hiring, performance reviews, training, and career development
- Coordinate project delivery across network, video, database, and security systems
- Oversee quoting, RFI, RFP, and engineering RFC processes
- Develop project plans, budgets, milestones, and technical requirements
- Manage vendor, integrator, and contractor coordination
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, topology diagrams, and change logs
- Serve as the customer-facing technical lead for outages and escalations
- Review system design, compatibility, and cost-saving opportunities
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on server and enterprise network experience
- 3+ years managing projects or teams
- Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience
- Experience with relational databases and performance tuning
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and high availability concepts
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
- Experience managing scope, schedule, risk, and vendors
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Construction or operations supervisory experience
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification
- Network, security, or database certifications
- Cloud networking or cloud security experience
- Familiarity with monitoring, SIEM, or automation tools
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Ansible
- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or ITSM tools
- Physical security integration platform experience
