Position: Director of Clinical Applications
Compensation: $150,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Full Remote
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Director of Clinical Applications to join their team!
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a clinical applications professional who thrives at the intersection of patient care, technology, and operational excellence. In this role, you’ll guide critical clinical systems that support hospital workflows, help shape new implementations, and serve as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders. The team is looking for someone who can bring structure, elevate performance, and help drive consistent results across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead clinical applications strategy across radiology, pharmacy, lab, and operations systems
- Oversee build, configuration, testing, and release activities
- Support new hospital activations, upgrades, and stabilization efforts
- Serve as primary contact for health system partner coordination
- Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and application support expectations
- Guide and develop analysts, leads, and managers across multiple teams
- Maintain documentation, validation evidence, and change control standards
- Partner with clinical and technical leaders on workflow improvements
- Escalate risks and communicate production issues clearly to executives
- Drive optimization efforts that improve clinician experience and efficiency
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Direct clinical experience with an active or previous clinical license or credential
- Ten or more years of healthcare IT experience
- At least five years leading teams
- Hands-on clinical application build and configuration experience
- Experience supporting EHR implementation, activation, or major upgrade
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows across inpatient and emergency settings
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Experience traveling to support projects, activations, and go-lives
- Epic or Cerner clinical application experience strongly preferred
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Epic certification in clinical applications
- Cerner certification or equivalent formal credential
- Joint venture or multi-owner hospital experience
- Experience with HL7 or FHIR integrations
- Background in emergency department or freestanding hospital environments
- Master’s degree in a related discipline
- Informatics or healthcare IT certifications
- Experience across both Epic and Cerner environments
