Position: Database Administrator
Compensation: $110,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Houston, Texas
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Database Administrator to join their team!
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on database professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and improving data systems that support the entire organization. You’ll own a key role in maintaining reliable, high-performing database environments while also having room to expand into additional technical areas. Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain database solutions
- Optimize performance through indexing and query tuning
- Support SQL Server and related database environments
- Manage database security using least-privilege practices
- Assist with deployments, testing, and production support
- Create documentation for supportability and ongoing maintenance
- Maintain automation scripts for routine tasks
- Perform capacity planning and resource evaluations
- Collaborate with teams on technical requirements and solutions
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server or similar databases
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Experience with database tuning and performance optimization
- Windows Server administration experience
- Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models
- Familiarity with Azure SQL operations or migrations
- Experience supporting high availability environments
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with MongoDB or CouchDB
- Knowledge of Progress OpenEdge DBA work
- Experience with ABL development
- Linux administration experience
- Data warehouse experience
- Experience with Always-On Availability Groups
- Experience with Jira or Asana
- Experience working in Agile environments
