Position: Taxability & Exemption Specialist
Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Houston, Texas
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Taxability & Exemption Specialist to join their team!
This is a strong opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys digging into the details and solving complex transaction questions. You’ll support a high-volume queue focused on taxability research, exemption review, and international tax support while helping improve processes along the way. With room to grow into expanded responsibilities as the team evolves, this role offers both immediate impact and long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Review transactions to determine taxability based on product and customer details
- Process exemption-related requests and direct pay cases in Salesforce
- Research VAT and international taxability questions
- Manage a high-volume queue with accuracy and consistency
- Document findings and complete case work efficiently
- Identify process improvements and workflow efficiencies
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 2–3 years of relevant tax experience
- Experience researching taxability issues
- Experience reviewing customer exemption documentation
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume case queue
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Must complete an Excel assessment
- Avalara experience
- Experience supporting VAT-related questions
