Position: Engineer Technician
Compensation: $29/hr – $36/hr depending on experience
Location: Coppell, Texas
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Engineer Technician to join their team!
This is a hands-on opportunity to support product engineering across both legacy hardware and next-generation connected devices. In this role, you’ll be at the center of board-level troubleshooting, failure analysis, and prototype bring-up, helping turn complex technical challenges into reliable product performance. If you enjoy digging into root causes, working closely with engineers, and improving hardware from the ground up, this is a strong direct hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Troubleshoot board-level electrical and firmware issues
- Perform root cause analysis on field returns and production failures
- Support prototype and pilot build board bring-up
- Build, rework, and repair prototype and production boards
- Develop and run hardware validation tests and fixtures
- Assist with environmental and EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing
- Document findings and recommend corrective actions
- Support manufacturing and test troubleshooting efforts
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hardware debug, test, or bring-up experience
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
- Experience soldering and reworking SMT and through-hole components
- Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts
- Experience using JTAG or SWD debug tools
- Methodical approach to root cause analysis and documentation
- Comfort working with cellular-connected devices and test equipment
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with life-safety, security, or emergency communications hardware
- Exposure to environmental or EMC/EMI pre-compliance testing
- Basic Python scripting for test automation or data logging
- Basic firmware debugging skills
- Ability to interpret code, breakpoints, and register state
- Experience supporting component obsolescence or second-source testing
