Position: BI Engineer
Compensation: $150,000 – $165,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Houston, Texas
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled BI Engineer to join their team!
This is a high-visibility opportunity for a hands-on BI professional who enjoys turning complex business needs into practical data solutions. In this role, you’ll work directly with senior leadership on impactful projects that support both internal and client-facing analytics. The team is looking for someone who can move comfortably between strategy, data modeling, and dashboard development while keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Partner with business leaders to define reporting and analytics needs
- Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI
- Develop and extend data models using dbt and SQL
- Support ETL and data transformation initiatives
- Translate business requirements into actionable data solutions
- Design KPIs and reporting logic with business impact in mind
- Work with Snowflake and supporting data tools
- Collaborate across technical and business teams on evolving priorities
- Contribute to backend dataset development and visualization improvements
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in analytics or BI roles
- Strong SQL skills and quantitative problem-solving ability
- Experience building dashboards and user-friendly visualizations
- Hands-on experience with dbt or a similar data modeling framework
- 2+ years of Power BI experience
- Experience programming in a collaborative environment
- Familiarity with version control workflows
- Ability to design and communicate KPI choices effectively
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Snowflake
- Knowledge of DAX
- Experience with Azure Data Lake
- Exposure to Prefect, Terraform, or CI/CD tools
- Experience with data integration tools
- Background in logistics or supply chain environments
- Experience working with executive stakeholders
- Familiarity with both internal and client-facing reporting
