Position: Application Developer II

Compensation: $40 – 45 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Application Developer II to join their team!

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a public-sector technology environment with a focus on modernization, integration, and application support. The ideal candidate will collaborate across teams, improve existing systems, and help transition legacy functionality into maintainable modern solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Modernize legacy Cobol functionality into modern code
• Build and maintain scalable APIs
• Develop automation scripts for integration processes
• Support application performance and maintainability improvements
• Work cross-functionally with technical and business teams
• Contribute to front-end and back-end development efforts
• Evaluate existing systems for modernization opportunities

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience with Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and React.js 
• Experience refactoring Cobol-based systems
• Ability to develop APIs and integration solutions
• Strong collaboration and client-facing communication skills
• Background in application development and analysis

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience modernizing enterprise legacy applications
• Automation or scripting experience
• Public-sector technology environment experience
• Knowledge of maintainability and performance optimization
