Position: Payroll Specialist

Compensation: $ 38 – 43 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their team!

Step into a high-impact payroll role supporting a major implementation project with a collaborative, tight-knit team. This opportunity is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys being the go-to resource for complex payroll issues. You’ll have the chance to contribute across multiple payroll areas while helping keep operations running smoothly during a long-term transformation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Process payroll across weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly cycles
• Support multi-state payroll operations and compliance
• Handle payroll tax, prevailing wage, and union-related issues
• Assist with complex payroll questions and escalations
• Serve as a flexible resource during implementation efforts
• Guide and support payroll administrators and team members
• Help maintain accuracy across high-volume payroll processes
• Contribute to a collaborative review-focused team environment

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• At least 5 years of payroll experience
• Experience with high-volume, enterprise payroll environments
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing
• Experience with payroll tax and compliance matters
• Experience with union payroll and prevailing wage requirements
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to adapt and support changing priorities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience supporting implementation projects
• Familiarity with large payroll teams
• Experience mentoring or guiding support staff
• Comfort working in a collaborative, peer-review environment
