Compensation: $60-$75/hr

Position: OT Engineer

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled OT Engineer to join their team!

This is a 6+ month contract opportunity, ideal for an engineer with deep experience in server platforms, virtualization, and Windows system administration. The selected candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing the organization’s operational technology (OT) environment, with a particular focus on server-centric systems that support industrial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and support physical and virtual server environments, including VMware and Hyper-V

• Oversee Windows Server administration (install, configure, patch, and secure)

• Automate system tasks using PowerShell and SCCM

• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and other Windows-based infrastructure components

• Contribute to scalable infrastructure deployments and performance tuning

• Assist with basic network configurations, including switches, routers, and VPNs

• Work cross-functionally with IT and OT stakeholders to ensure operational continuity

• Travel occasionally (approx. 25%) to remote sites as needed

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong understanding of platform and server management in an enterprise environment

• 5+ years of experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V)

• Deep knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and Group Policy

• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and SCCM automation

• Experience with server hardening and patch management

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including segmentation and firewall rules

• Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort working in fast-paced, regulated environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Prior experience supporting OT systems such as SCADA or DCS

• Oil & Gas or utilities industry background

• Understanding of IT/OT convergence and cybersecurity best practices in industrial environments

• Experience transferring systems into highly available, production-ready states

• Exposure to network monitoring or intrusion detection systems
