Position: Director of Property and Development Accounting

Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Houston, Texas

As a Director of Property and Development Accounting, you'll oversee accounting records and guide a team, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. This role is perfect for someone ready to make their mark in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Review accounting records and administrative matters for projects
• Supervise and develop accounting staff
• Ensure accuracy of financial reporting and construction draws
• Coordinate with external parties and manage treasury functions
• Review funding requests and coordinate approval of reserves
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports
• Assist with tax projections and preparation workpapers
• Contribute to training and development of accounting team
• Prepare ad hoc reports for management and external users

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
• CPA designation
• Five or more years of professional accounting experience
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in Oracle & JD Edwards systems advantageous

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Public accounting experience
• Commercial real estate experience
• Experience with debt modifications and acquisitions
