Position: Senior Data Modeler

Compensation: $70 – $85 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Senior Data Modeler to join their team!

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Design and implement dimensional models and Data Vault structures
• Optimize semantic models for self-service analytics
• Lead migration of legacy models to modern semantic layers
• Design event schemas for streaming architectures
• Partner with engineers to optimize table designs and query performance
• Ensure data governance and quality with embedded security
• Document data models and maintain enterprise data catalogs
• Establish data modeling standards and best practices
• Create data products for business self-service analytics
• Mentor junior data modelers and influence architecture decisions

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data modeling
• Expertise in dimensional modeling methodologies
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query
• Experience with cloud data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake
• Solid understanding of ELT/ETL patterns and data integration
• Proficiency with Git-based version control
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with event-driven architecture and streaming data modeling
• Familiarity with dbt for transformation modeling
• Understanding of data mesh principles and domain-oriented data ownership
• Knowledge of OpenLineage for data lineage
• Background in AEC or related industries
• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms
