Position: License, Permits, and Exemptions Specialist
Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Houston, Texas

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Maintain inventory of active business licenses and permits
- Coordinate applications, renewals, and amendments
- Track expiration dates and initiate renewals
- Oversee exemption certificate collection and validation
- Utilize Avalara CertCapture for documentation management
- Configure Avalara systems for compliance support
- Build Salesforce workflows for requests
- Serve as audit contact for licensing and exemptions
- Develop SOPs and compliance checklists
- Recommend workflow improvements
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years managing licenses, permits, or exemption certificates
- Experience with Avalara and Salesforce
- Knowledge of licensing and tax exemption requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience in retail or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional tax compliance
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
