Position: Application Security Engineer

Compensation: $65 – 70 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Houston, Texas

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Application Security Engineer to join their team!

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assess and secure AI/LLM applications
• Identify and mitigate risks like data exfiltration and model misuse
• Define secure design patterns for AI applications
• Establish policies for safe AI usage
• Lead threat modeling for AI-powered applications
• Implement and manage SAST, DAST, and SCA tools
• Secure CI/CD pipelines and third-party dependencies
• Ensure sensitive data is properly handled in AI systems
• Design secure authentication and authorization for applications
• Secure cloud-native applications and infrastructure

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 3–8+ years in application or product security
• Experience securing modern applications
• Strong understanding of common vulnerabilities
• Proficiency with code scanning tools and CI/CD security
• Familiarity with LLM/AI application architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience securing internal AI tools
• Background in red teaming AI systems
• Familiarity with vector databases or ML pipelines
• Experience with shadow IT discovery programs
• Knowledge of secrets management tools
• Experience with threat modeling methodologies
• Offensive security or penetration testing experience
• Relevant certifications (OSCP, GWAPT, CISSP)
