Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for surveillance hardware platforms, camera systems, and field deployments
- Support and troubleshoot Video Management Systems (VMS), cameras, sensors, edge devices, and related infrastructure
- Assist with configuration, deployment, and integration of surveillance hardware across customer environments
- Work with both in-house and third-party hardware/software platforms to ensure system connectivity and performance
- Support API integrations and system communication between surveillance platforms and internal applications
- Troubleshoot networking, connectivity, and device communication issues across distributed environments
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, product, and field teams to support deployments and ongoing system improvements
- Assist with hardware evaluations, proof-of-concept testing, and R&D initiatives
- Support field operations teams during deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts
- Build and maintain dashboards and monitoring tools for device visibility and operational awareness
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and training materials
- Participate in system design discussions and provide recommendations around hardware compatibility and scalability
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency across surveillance systems
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in systems integration, application support, or backend/API-focused roles
- Hands-on experience working with APIs (RESTful, SOAP) and integration concepts
- Experience with integration tools or messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, MuleSoft, BizTalk, or similar)
- Strong understanding of data formats (JSON, XML) and data transformation
- Experience working with databases and SQL for data manipulation and reporting
- Exposure to ETL processes and data pipeline concepts
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also acceptable)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across distributed systems
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, or similar dashboarding/monitoring tools
- Exposure to Video Management Systems (VMS) or surveillance technologies
- Experience with IoT, hardware-integrated systems, or edge devices
- Background in security/surveillance, energy, or industrial environments
- Understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices
