Position: Revenue Accountant I
Compensation: $25 – $30 /hour, depending on experience
Location: Houston, Texas
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Revenue Accountant I to join their team!
This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build hands-on experience in oil and gas revenue accounting. You’ll join an established team and support critical accounting functions, including accruals, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and variance analysis. This role offers exposure to a variety of revenue processes, flexible scheduling options, and the chance to contribute ideas that help improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare routine revenue accounting entries and support month-end activities
- Create basic to moderately complex revenue accruals
- Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare regulatory reports and related payments
- Analyze revenue and production variances
- Work with oil and gas volumes and allocations
- Support forecasting and reporting activities as needed
- Identify process improvements to increase team efficiency
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience
- 4–6 years of equivalent experience accepted without a degree
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial work
- Comfortable learning new systems and working with direction
- Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Oil and gas revenue accounting background
- Experience with revenue accruals and reconciliations
- Exposure to regulatory reporting and payments
- Experience with production volumes or allocations
- Revenue forecasting experience
- Experience with Excalibur or similar accounting software
