Position: Medical Billing Specialist

Compensation: $ 19+/hour, depending on experience

Location: Edmond, Oklahoma

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join their team!

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced billing professional who enjoys solving claim issues, supporting patients, and keeping revenue cycle operations moving efficiently. The role sits in a busy healthcare environment and offers hands-on work with insurance follow-up, denial resolution, and account review.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Review unpaid claims and identify follow-up actions
• Contact insurance carriers to check claim status
• Submit documentation and corrections to support payment
• Respond to patient questions about accounts and coverage
• Research and resolve insurance denials
• Process delinquent accounts and payment plans
• Resubmit claims and monitor payment progress
• Work assigned tasks within the EMR system
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
• Support coworkers and assist with daily workflow as needed

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Six to twelve months of related billing experience preferred
• Experience in a healthcare setting required
• Knowledge of medical billing and collections practices
• Understanding of basic medical coding
• Familiarity with third-party payer procedures
• Knowledge of Medicare requirements
• Strong computer and data entry skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and payers

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Prior insurance denial resolution experience
• Experience with claim troubleshooting
• Background in accounts receivable follow-up
• Comfort working in EMR systems
• Experience supporting patient assistance programs
• Strong relationship-building skills across teams

Other Information:

• Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Friday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Hours may vary based on department and clinic needs
• Fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to communicable diseases and biohazards
• Travel may be required
