Position: Sr. Electronic Engineer

Compensation: $150000 – $175000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Coppell, Texas

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Sr. Electronic Engineer to join their team!

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced engineer to help shape both legacy and next-generation emergency communications devices. You’ll own electrical and firmware design, support product evolution, and help bring connected hardware to life from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Own electrical and firmware design across the product line
• Support legacy devices and next-generation connected hardware
• Drive schematic capture, PCB layout, and board bring-up
• Develop firmware for embedded and connected device platforms
• Design cellular, Wi-Fi, or IoT communication solutions
• Partner on device-to-cloud protocols and telemetry
• Improve remote diagnostics, fleet health, and device security
• Root-cause field issues and drive corrective actions
• Support manufacturing, testing, and certification efforts
• Maintain accurate BOMs, schematics, and engineering documentation

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years in electrical or embedded hardware design
• Strong schematic capture and PCB design experience
• Experience with Altium or similar design tools
• Proven firmware development experience in C/C++
• Experience with microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M
• RTOS experience, such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr
• Hands-on lab debugging with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
• Experience with cellular modules and IoT connectivity protocols
• Background supporting hardware from concept through production

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with UL, FCC, PTCRB, or FirstNet certification
• Exposure to battery-backed, low-power power architecture
• Embedded Linux experience
• Experience with AWS IoT Core or similar cloud platforms
• Background in life-safety, security, or emergency communications
• Experience with obsolescence management and second sourcing
• Familiarity with DFM and DFT best practices

• Reporting line is to the VP of Product Development
• Role partners closely with Product Management and cross-functional teams
• Supports both fielded products and new digital architecture
• Assists with certification testing for new cellular hardware revisions
• Mentors junior engineers and contractor resources
