Position: Sr Tax Accountant

Compensation: $ 80,000 – 100,000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Houston, Texas

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Prepare federal and state income tax returns
• Manage personal property tax renditions
• Handle sales and use tax returns
• Reconcile intercompany account balances
• Calculate income tax provisions
• Research tax issues affecting the company
• Correspond with local tax authorities
• Adapt to tax law changes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax
• 5 years experience in public accounting or industry
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Knowledge of Federal Internal Revenue Code
• Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and PIVOT

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Thompson Reuters “Income Tax”
• Working knowledge of freight forwarding/trucking business
• CPA certification or Enrolled Agent preferred
