Position: Medical Coder

Compensation: $24+/hour (depending on experience)

Location: Full Remote

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Medical Coder to join their team!

This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy specialty healthcare environment where accurate coding, billing integrity, and compliance truly matter. In this role, you’ll help ensure patient records are coded correctly, claims are processed efficiently, and providers have the documentation support they need to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Review medical records for coding accuracy and completeness
• Assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and applicable APC/DRG codes
• Sequence codes to support compliant reimbursement
• Work with providers to clarify incomplete documentation
• Support insurance authorizations and pre-determinations
• Conduct chart audits and coding quality reviews
• Identify and report coding discrepancies
• Train staff and support documentation improvements
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Manage assigned EMR tasks in a timely manner

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Active Certified Professional Coder certification required
• At least 2 years of coding experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Experience with medical billing and coding practices
• Understanding of third-party payer procedures
• Knowledge of Medicare requirements
• Proficiency with EHR systems and coding software
• Strong attention to detail and organization

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience coding radiology services
• Experience coding neurology procedures
• Experience with office visit and lab coding
• Background handling insurance claim issues
• Experience with chart audits and compliance reviews
• Familiarity with pre-certification workflows
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting

Other Information:

• Remote opportunity
• Standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Friday schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Hours may vary based on business needs
• Opportunity supports a growing specialty healthcare team
